Why are your prices lower than the quotes I'm getting directly from the courier companies?

Our rates are lower because we clear high shipment volumes and have agreements in place with our valued Courier Partners. We then pass on the lower rates and additional services that we get, to our valued Customers.

Can I send a parcel with a Cash on Delivery (COD) option?

Unfortunately we do not provide a COD option due to technical and security reasons.

How do I send a parcel?

Order directly on our website or mobile app. After filling in the order details on the initial page, we will offer you a selection of various courier services, sorted by delivery time or cost.

Choose the option that fits your preferences, fill in the form and pay online. A driver will collect the parcel at the specified address. From the moment it is collected, you can track your shipment online via the link we will email you. The package is then delivered to the address that you have filled in.

Can I order shipping between two other countries (for example, from Germany to Italy)?

Direct shipping between two other countries will be available soon. Currently, we only support shipping from South Africa.

Can I use your service to shop on an international e-commerce site?

Unfortunately, we do not offer the possibility of shipping from foreign e-commerce sites.  If it's a brick and mortar store, you can pay for your goods in advance, choose the option of picking the items up in person and tell the shop that your items will be collected by a courier. You would need to get the weight and dimensions of the parcel(s) directly from the merchant to obtain an accurate quote.  (Please check in advance that the parcel doesn't exceed the maximum weight and dimensions.) If the merchant refuses to hand over your items to the courier, unfortunately you cannot be refunded for the shipping cost.

Why is your service so good?

We offer our valued Customers the transportation of parcels at the affordable rates that we get from our valued Courier Partners, thanks to the high shipment volumes that we realize. You can choose a shipping provider based on price, estimated delivery time or according to your personal preference.

Can I get a delivery confirmation?

Our system will email you the tracking updates along the parcel's journey, even notifying you of the delivery.

If you need a POD, you can get the proof of delivery by emailing us at info@parcelspot.com.  Please include the shipping number in your request.

Is the online quote price final, or do other surcharges apply?

Yes, all prices are final. Our smart algorithm calculates all the applicable surcharges and shows the final shipping price. You pay the shipping fee in advance on our site - you don't pay anything to the driver. 

The only instances where this may not apply, are as follows:

  • You under declare the weight and / or dimensions of your parcel (i.e. it's actually a lot heavier and bigger than claimed, pushing it into a higher price bracket).  
  • A special request is made for a collection or delivery that falls outside of regular hours.
  • When the location(s) is a port or an harbour, a high risk or remote area, inside a shopping centre, on a farm or game farm, or an embassy or consulate.
  • Tender deliveries.

In such cases, Parcelspot will get in touch with you to rebill you for the difference.

Do you have a full price list?

We recommend using our online shipping calculator as this will always get you the most accurate final shipping quotes. We have also compiled a rates schedule for the delivery costs within South Africa.  Please request an up-to-date schedule from sales@parcelspot.com.

Is your service a good fit for me?

Our service is designed for everyone – individuals, retailers and businesses. Most of our retail Customers are individuals who used to bring packages to the post office or a drop-off point. It's so easy to fill in the details and order on our website and pay the shipping fee online - then all you need to do is prepare your parcel for shipment and give it to the courier driver that comes to the chosen collection address (typically the home or office address). Can I get any discounts?

If you open an account with us, you get a 2.5% discount on all your shipping costs (simply pull the quotes while logged into your account), amongst other benefits.  You can also get percentage of your spend this month as cash back on your account on the first day of the following month to use towards your courier fees in that month, based on a tier (the higher your spend, the higher your cash back percentage will be).
